Just finished my last winter scarf for the season, and I’m mildly pleased with it.  I love the yarn – it’s a beautiful, handspun, hand dyed wool yarn from Pucker Brush Farm in Pennsylvania.  I got it at last year’s Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival and bought it just because it was beautiful but I had no idea what to do with it.  It was my first time knitting with a thick/thin yarn so it took some stops and starts before I was happy with the gauge.  There was only one skein when I bought it and that, plus the thick/thin thing, led me to a simple garter stitch scarf.  It does show the yarn well and its hard for me to do complicated patterns with the kids in full gear anyway.  I do wish I had made it a little skinnier than it came out, but it’ll be great next winter.

So here it is – I’ve decided it looks like moss covered stones, like on the side of an old forest path.
